In the last three years Richard has provided expert evidence on landscape planning matters for public and private clients at four public inquiries, two hearings and several planning meetings. He has prepared representations for a range of issues. At a site close to Warwick Castle, Richard represented the planning authority to defend their decision not to allocate the site, even though at the time they could not demonstrate a 5 year land supply. The inspector found in favour of the LPA, although unfortunately the Secretary of State later reversed the decision. In Yorkshire near Selby, Richard was able to demonstrate that the potential benefits of a solar farm would outweigh any adverse landscape impacts and the scheme was given consent at appeal.
