Richard has a wide range of landscape design experience having previously worked in architectural and engineering led private practices and local authority. He has worked in a range of sectors - from major infrastructure to streetscape, public open space, housing, employment, education, healthcare and domestic gardens.
The key components of good design are the same in all situations - a thorough assessment of the site and design requirements; selection of an appropriate materials palette; careful implementation of works; a planned approach to establishment and site management. Creating good landscape is seldom 'instant'. A long-term management plan by the designer can help ensure that capital investments are protected and enhanced over time.
