Study of West Midlands green belt
A joint venture between several authorities required a development strategy for land around Coventry, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Rugby and Warwick - a vast area. Working with SSR Planning, Richard teamed up with David Brown to prepare a landscape assessment of the entire area - utilising desk based studies and new fieldwork. We developed a hierarchy of landscape categories defining landscapes in need of protection, areas where landscape enhancement would be desirable and areas where there might be potential for urban expansion.
